Abstract

This research has a background, namely the learning outcomes of the theme of Unity in Differences in Social Studies subjects on the material of the Proclamation of Independence together are low. The purpose of this study was to increase the motivation and learning outcomes of social studies students of class VI SDN Tegalharjo 02 Trangkil Pati through the Brainstorming method. The researcher planned this research using the principles of Classroom Action Research. This research was divided into 2 cycles, each of which consisted of 3 meetings. The result is that after the first cycle, the percentage of learning motivation with high criteria, students classically increased from 29.03% pre-cycle to 38.70% in the first cycle and 83.87% in the second cycle. Learning outcomes increased from the evaluation before the improvement of learning there were 14 students or 45.16% of 31 students. In the improvement of the learning cycle I increased, students whose scores were 70 and above became 24 or 77.41% of the total 31 students and in the improvement of the second cycle to 30 students or 96.77%. The conclusion of the study is that the use of the Brainstorming method can increase the learning motivation of the sixth graders of SDN Tegalharjo 02 Trangkil Pati in the first semester of the 2019/2020 school year.
