HUBUNGAN MAKANAN TINGGI NATRIUM DENGAN KEJADIAN HIPERTENSI PADA WANITA USIA SUBUR DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS GUNUNGPATI, KOTA SEMARANG

Abstrak

The increase in non-communicable diseases is a disease trend in the world. One of the causes of morbidity in non-communicable diseases such as kidney failure, heart failure and stroke is hypertension. The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia is included in the high category. Hypertension is a disease that is increasingly being found in the Gunungpati District of Semarang City. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between foods high in sodium and the incidence of hypertension in women of childbearing age in the Gunungpati Community Health Center working area. This research uses an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional design. The number of samples in this study was 101 women of childbearing age using purposive sampling techniques. The variable studied was foods high in sodium. Data analysis using Chi-Square. The results of bivariate analysis showed that high sodium food variables had no relationship with the incidence of hypertension in women of childbearing age in the Gunungpati Health Center working area (p=0.233). From this research, it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between consumption of foods high in sodium and the incidence of hypertension with a p value of (0.223). This shows that excessive sodium consumption is not a risk factor for hypertension in women of childbearing age in the Gunungpati Community Health Center working area.
