Abstrak

Noise can cause hearing loss in the workplace environment. Workers will experience hearing loss if the worker's accident exceeds the Threshold Limit value. Occupational hearing loss is the permanent loss of partial or complete hearing, which can occur in one or both ears due to continuous interference in the workplace. This disorder occurs gradually and over a long period of time, so that workers are not aware of it. Based on the data, workers can experience hearing loss around the boiler area, one of which is not using PPE while working. The purpose of the study was to determine the Noise Factors on hearing loss in workers in the Boiler area of ​​PT. XYZ. The design of this study was cross-sectional with a crosstabulation method using numbers and statistics with a quantitative type, a total sampling of 35 respondents. Questionnaire data collection and measurement of interference using a Sound Level Meter. The results of this study were 82.5% of points in the boiler area were in the noisy category and 17.5% were in the non-noisy category. 60.0%

Suggestions for workers on the need for a level of awareness of using PPE (earplugs and earmuffs) when operating machines/tools, for company managers on how to control Engineering Control at sound sources and make noise calculations and install signs of disturbance hazards in the work area and for further researchers to examine other health impacts such as: hearing loss, psychological, physiological, and so on.
